Bringing the equipment into one cabinet
The Waikiki installation centred on a new 9RU wall-mounted network cabinet. The project record describes relocating the NBN connection into the cabinet and installing CAT6 wiring throughout the property. The photographs show the completed cabinet, UniFi gateway, switch and patch connections.
WiFi, cameras and the home network
The recorded scope includes a Dream Machine Special Edition, U7 In-Wall WiFi and three G6 PTZ cameras. Camera photographs document several installed positions around the home. No measured wireless coverage, camera retention period or internet speed has been supplied for this case study.
Storage and backup power
Network storage and a UniFi UPS are included in the project record. These sit alongside the gateway and camera system in the wider installation. Storage capacity, backup policy and UPS runtime are not specified in the source record; those details need a separate assessment when designing another home system.
Access provisions and the next stage
The completed description records provisions for future access control. A proposed Gate Hub stage would address the electric side gate and automatic shed roller door. That proposal is distinct from the completed networking and camera work shown here. A Door Hub Mini appears in the equipment record, but the available description does not establish a commissioned access sequence.
What to bring to a home assessment
A floor plan, photographs of the existing NBN location and a list of intended camera positions help establish the scope. Include any storage or access requirements at this stage, so cabinet space, cabling and power can be considered together.
